Our dynamometer is here!

For us, it is a milestone in the history of our company: on January 17, 2023, we put our first in-house dynamometer into operation. From now on, we will be able to carry out analysis and tuning work directly on the vehicle at our Schwelm site - even with an all-wheel drive option, as our V-tech system has an adaptive design.

But first things first! Of course, conversion work was necessary right at the start of the new year 2023 in order to set up and install the new dynamometer in a closed, soundproofed room within the company building. We opted for the previous body shop department, which we assigned a different location within the building. The advantage of the test bench room is its location: we can draw the fresh air supply from our neighboring car wash and thus ensure that we can obtain real data at all times.

A four-post work platform that can be driven on, a 65-inch monitor and a workstation with all the necessary control modules are all part of the system, enabling us to make precise statements about your and our favourite cars in future and to optimize what needs to be optimized in a stationary position. We have the option of running engines in fourth gear for three seconds at 2,500 rpm when installed in order to assess the exhaust behavior and make improvements to the map.

Initial test measurements have shown that the whole thing not only works well straight away, but is also not a burden for our colleagues in the other areas. Very little escapes from the new test room - and not just in terms of noise. The exhaust fumes are also effectively directed outside, thanks to a special extraction system. Our latest YouTube video summarizes all the essentials and documents one thing above all: a milestone, as mentioned at the beginning.
