NEW: clever DTW heater fan for 964 and 993 | Product presentation | DTW Germany | The Engine

Warm feet and still look good? That doesn’t have to be a contradiction! Because the new DTW heater fan for 964 and 993 provides a remedy – in a pretty ingenious way!

The problem is well known to friends of the 964 and 993 model series: Without the original heater auxiliary fan in the engine compartment it does not work. The structure, reminiscent of a hair dryer, looks anything but beautiful. Enthusiasts with an eye for aesthetics therefore like to use a curved replacement pipe, which can also be made of carbon fiber and at least satisfies visual requirements. The downside of the beauty treatment: Warm heating air does not reach the front of the footwell, at least not to a sufficient extent. But what can be done? Our engineering team at @dastriebwerk thought about this and came up with a solution that we think is pretty clever and would like to present here.

The new development was manufactured thanks to the support of Composite Impulse from Gevelsberg and, in addition to a visually appealing carbon molded part in the upper visible area, is composed of an elastic hose middle phase and an end piece inserted into the end plate at the bottom with the integrated, original series resistor, the temperature sensor and the motor connection. The special feature of this ensemble is the turbo blower hidden inside, which now shovels plenty of warm air forward into the footwell. After installing our first (small) production-ready DTW heater blower, we convinced ourselves of its functionality and are more than thrilled: Cold feet are a thing of the past, even with an engine compartment that has been consistently cleaned or painted a light color.

Up to now, it was the case that one or woman had to suffer in order to run a beautiful 964. By the way, this was also the case in our backdate nine-elves – the confrontation with the heating problem in these top-class built-up nine-elf variants gave us the idea to approach the subject in an innovative new way.
